Event Description
The Springfield Huddle is hosting a public education Zoom program on reforming Pennsylvania’s redistricting process. Fair Districts PA speaker Andrew Davies will update the audience on PA’s current redistricting process, demonstrate how it undermines democracy, and then offer a solution to the problem.
Andrew will also explore the damaging cycle in which gerrymandering leads to unfair procedural rules that are used to block popular bi-partisan legislation such as redistricting reform bills. He will discuss current legislation in Harrisburg and Fair District PA’s strategy going forward. Finally, suggestions will be offered for how individuals and groups can advocate for change.
Fair Districts PA is a non-partisan coalition of citizens and organizations seeking to reform PA redistricting rules by ensuring that the process is impartial, transparent, and accountable.
