Last week PA Senate leaders Corman and Scarnati published a letter to House leadership asking them to come back and finish the work of redistricting reform.
PA House leaders Reed and Dermody have said they are willing to continue working toward a real compromise between both houses and parties.
Governor Wolf has also been working to bring all sides together to negotiate a way forward.
Speaker Mike Turzai is blocking this effort, and has been from the start.
Fair Districts PA supporters and constituents of Speaker Turzai have asked him at least 75 times for a meeting to discuss this reform. Despite many emails, calls and attempted in-person visits, he has never responded.
A majority of his own colleagues supported this reform, with 110 cosponsoring HB 722 and 96 cosponsoring HB 2402.
Help us make clear to Representative Turzai that this is not what representation should look like.
Ask him to negotiate a solution with other House and Senate leaders, then call the House back for a vote.

“Hi. My name is ____________ and I’m a Pennsylvania resident. I’m calling to urge Speaker Turzai to work with leaders in the House and Senate to agree on a solution to legislative and congressional redistricting reform, and to call the House back to Harrisburg this week in order to vote on it. ALL of the other legislative leaders have said they are willing to do this. Through his inaction, Speaker Turzai is blocking this critical reform. Can I count on him to do the right thing by calling the House back to the Capitol to address this vital issue?”
