It’s not a party problem, it’s a process problem. Loose, unenforced redistricting rules can be abused by any political party that’s in power. There are plenty of examples of both major parties exploiting the redistricting process in states across the U.S., effectively controlling election results for a decade or more.
Reform starts with taking the redistricting power away from the parties and returning it to the people, where it belongs. An independent, impartial citizens commission with strict rules for transparency and public participation is the solution.
